Fargeblind - Interactive Music Maker

Fargeblind was a semester project in the course 'prototyping of interactive media'. The goal was to make a prototype of an interactive music maker that would translate color into sound. We used Arduinos, color sensors, dc-motors, led-strips and our own code to prototype. It was done in collaboration with Rockheim museum.

The most important lesson the project taught us, was that working with micro electronics can be a though, unpredictable affair. We wrote a blog through the process that highlighted our struggles and how we tried to solve them.

In the end, not everything worked as intended. The sensors were too unprecise for our intended use, and only a few of our team knew how the coding worked. Which meant fever people that could help out when things did not work. I am still proud of my team's effort, and we did present a rather fun proof of concept to the judges at Rockheim.

Check out the development blog at https://protorock.wordpress.com/ (Norwegian).
Promo video making use of cool shots and lots of smoke. Not the best way to describe its user interface, we concur.
But hey, it look rather good does it not?
