The Cornish Mead Company, based in Penzance has been producing mead and fruit wines since 1951. Up until now the company’s distinctive bottle has remained unchanged, however increasing delivery and production costs, encouraged the company to reconsider its packaging and audience reach. We were appointed to reposition the brand and product range, the challenge was to retain the existing market but identify with new audiences. The new tag line ‘Let the good times roll’ captures the spirit of this celebratory drink, and a complete graphic wrap around the bottle has confidence and individuality. 

 
The new 360 degree design has retained the company’s unique identity by embracing shrink-wrap sleeve technology to maximise shelf impact, with tattoo and illustrative graphics inspired by the company’s nautical location and Cornwall’s association with myth and legend. The distinctive crest from it’s past remains complemented by a new logo creating a clear label hierarchy. The creative solution opens potential new markets as well as economic and environmental advantages with a lighter bottle which is less intensive in its use of materials.
