The redevelopment of St Giles, unfortunately appears to be one of the areas that goes  through a process of gentrification, which has negative impact on certain social groups.This phenomenon brings imbalance in the wider urban ecology, where some social groups are forced to be displaced.  The proposed social enterprise tackles the issue, whilst being a sustainable model combining commercial component - the barber shop- with the social - the urban washing house - aims at filling the gap in the social provision and the maintaining the existing community of the area.
