ONEADAY18 - Visual Perception in Nature, Textures and Scale

Equipment used -

Iphone 7
Apexel Mobile phone Lens in Macrox15 and Telephoto Lens

Techniques explored - I explored a variety of techniques including Small to Big, Natural and Man Made Textures

I decided i wanted to play with miniatures so went to a hobby store to buy some that iIthought would be able to be set in areas around me. I originally wanted to explore 3 variations with the miniatures I imagined using the track workers in a setting near the train track or a work site. I imagined the young girl swinging on a swing set using perspective to make her appear full sized and some other miniatures i had wearing suits waiting for public transport.  I quickly realised my Phone camera and lenses i had bought wouldnt allow me to achieve the effect I wanted which was quite disheartening however i still explored texture and scale using the tools I had.
This image is of some smaller leaves from a plant  in my apartments garden. I feel the image makes teh leave appear larger than they are and like the way the overlap creates an interesting texture.
I wanted to play with the miniatures and see if I could use plants in the background to create a tree-like effect however my lens could not capture the background in focus whilst keeping the miniatures in the foreground.
The above and below images explore texture in nature and man-made. The veins of the leaves appear glossy and balanced whilst having a natural asymmetry that creates interest. The below image is of  staining on concrete  I thought it would be interesting to frame this image as an aerial view of a farm or dessert however could not get the effect I was after.
I like the background of this image and found it interesting to utilise a recognisably small object in the image framed to make the miniature look full sized.
I feel the texture of the flowers create an interesting composition and with some photo editing they could appear as something larger and more abstract then they are.
These final two images are taken from the roof of my apartment overlooking the train tracks. I was trying to get the miniatures appear they are working on the tracks using a higher perspective and macro lens. Again I struggled to get both the foreground and background in the image so wanted to include both so you can imagine the effect.
