Saab "World Tour" Ad Campaign

The (Saab) Story
As both a lifelong car enthusiast and a fan of doing things differently, I've always been partial to Saab as a carmaker and brand. My family's first car when we moved to the United States was a 1986 Saab 9000 Turbo in Rose Quartz Metallic on Bokhara Red velour, and I have many fond memories of riding in the back seat and marveling at all of its quirky design elements. Naturally, I was gutted when GM killed off Saab in 2012. To honor the memory of that original car, I sourced a vintage promotional postcard for the 1986 Saab 9000 Turbo and turned it into my own spec ad.
Above: Original scan of the 1986 Saab promotional postcard.
Below: The final product. The car was lowered, given BBS RS wheels, period-correct California "Golden State" vanity plates, OEM fog lights, and livery from the three test cars that competed in the legendary endurance event known as "The Long Run" at Talladega Superspeedway in 1986. The postcard was also given a pretend endorsement by fellow Swedes, ABBA.
