Using the double-entendre of the word 'bath' is something I'm very fond of doing - it's hardly an original idea, but you don't see so many people doing it! I made this bathtub as the shape in the centre of a map of Bath, with all routes leading in. "Empty space" has been removed.
The piece was exhibited in the Bath Society of Artists' 2013 exhibition in Victoria Art Gallery. For the exhibition I had the map framed by the lovely folks at Meltone, so that it is properly stretched and raised off the blue background and the cutout effect is obcious and casts a brilliant shadow.
