Aim:
The aim of the study is to identify the medicinal plants available in the capital region of Chandigarh and relate it with public health .
Introduction:
Twelve prominent diseases have been identified in Chandigarh Capital Region. The diseases are plotted on the map in different zones with respect to their impact. Mapping of the diseases is done to identify the areas with particular diseases along with their intensity. On the other hand, medicinal plants growing in Chandigarh Capital Region are identified. Moreover, the treatment of the disease associated with these medicinal herbs would be denoted along with the disease. This can further be detailed to make use of such plants in the region itself to promote herbal treatment

Benefits of the Study:
Conducting the study of quantifying medicinal herbs would lead us to analyze a relationship between physiographic features ,socio-cultural conditions and economic factors of the region. Mapping its availability would help us to frame a management plan that would stimulate the process of maintaining the ecology of the region and further establishing new prospects of economic development in the area by utilizing these resources in the region for medicinal purposes. Moreover, by establishing the importance of these neglected herbs the greens of the area would be retained that are diminishing over a decade if planned by the government agencies to generate economy .
Graphic Representation:
The graphic represents different zones in our region with proportions of major diseases in it which is then overlapped with the availability of medicinal plants and its ability to deal with the diseases in the same color as of diseases to depict the potential resource of organic treatment in the region.(The point where the vertical and horizontal colors are same represents the solution for the diseases with the help of particular medicinal plant).
The exercise is done to identify the types of diseases in the region and the points of origin of medicinal plants dealing with the same diseases and to understand their spatial arrangement in the region. This can further be detailed to make use of such plants in the region itself to promote herbal treatment.
