Foundation for Firm-Wide Notification System
Based on rapid iteration and customer feedback, the following is a short-term recommendation of a firm-wide notification system. Critical workflow status needed to be quickly communicated beyond a single notification icon. This was a first step towards a robust and proactive experience that addressed our customer's biggest pain sooner: "I need to know where I stand in my active work at all times." There was an additional design challenge to overcome as well: the system was created by a 3rd party, so I had to influence an extended team and strike a balance between customer need, and ability of the vendor to customize the system we adopted.

If there are more than 5 of a notificarion type, the top 5 are displayed and a link is offered to view all.
