Homelessness reduction project

On this project, design thinking methods are applied to tackle part of the homelessness problem by enabling those who are looking for a gainful employment. Some of the steps have been explained below.
The project commenced by setting up the work environment, writing down each individual’s skills, followed by identifying the roles in the group of five.
The team members’ roles were assigned and a temporary schedule was developed. The double diamond process model which was created by the Design Council was adapted to the project to apply and follow design thinking steps.
The findings and insights were clustered based on the themes.
The team created two personas where one persona was based on a person with lived experience of homelessness and the other was based on a business person. A persona is a fictional representation of an ideal person which synthesized from observations of the targeted audience. Having these personas helped the team to narrow down to a single, sharper HMW question.
The develop phase started with the classical brainstorming method where all individuals wrote down their ideas on sticky notes and placed them on the board. The process was followed by “Crazy 8’s”. Similar and related ideas were clustered and rephrased. Those ideas have been relocated based on the impact-effort matrix instead of immediate dot voting and narrowing down.
A quick website prototype has been created.
