"The Forest", book illustrations.

This is a project I did for my last year at university. It is a collaboration with a writer, whose nature poems inspired my similarly-themed illustrations. Thus I created a series of drawings, which are shown below, as well as some part of their development. 

I started off with sketches of animals and nature elements, and this briefly follows the process of creating the final piece.

All illustrations are mainly done with black/grey ink & feather quill pen; sometimes I have used a black fineliner pen.

Quick sketches exploring fairies in order to decide on a certain pose/expression etc.

I used this illustration for creating an etching zinc plate. A couple of series of prints were done, using black, brown and green ink.
