Drop Cap Designs
During the 2018 Spring semester, I created drop cap designs for each of the letters of the alphabet. I worked first by hand using gauche, ink pens, and graphite pencils then I began working mainly on the computer digitizing sketches using Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop. These designs experiment with
3-dimensional and 2-dimensional letters, inlines, illustrative letters, and a wide variety of typeface styles from blackletter to serif to sans serif to cursive.
Below are my sketches for each of the drop cap designs:
