For this project we had to create a flag for a city that had some meaning to us. For my city I chose Exeter, NH which is where I grew up. Exeter doesn't currently have a flag so I had nothing to base my design on. The first symbol on my flag is the building. One of the main places in the town is a private school called Phillips Exeter Academy. The school is world famous and is a popular destination for tourists. The coloring of the building is supposed to represent the traditional East Coast brick building style. The second symbol is the blue wave which represents the river that runs through the middle of the downtown. The river was a vital piece of the fabric industry in the town. It was used to transport different products back out to sea. I believe my two symbols show all that Exeter, NH has to offer.
