Most people don’t realize that maltose sugar has always been a part of our lives and can be found in cooking, traditional pastries and snacks. The rise of international trade and the sheer variety of choices mean that fewer people now buy maltose sugar. We combined Taiwanese tradition maltose sugar and Malaysia Baba Nyonya culture by collaborating with the New Southbound Policy in Taiwan to expand the traditional market.The gradual disappearance of maltose sugar echoes the disappearance of the Baba Nyonya culture. That’s why we wanted to present malt sugar in a form quite different from the one we usually see in grocery stores, and to use this opportunity to showcase the colorful Baba Nyonya culture.
