The monster I designed was based off of a cute fairy monster image I found online. After studying the online image I used tools such as the ellipse tool, pen tool, direct selection tool to create the body of the monster. After the body was complete I picked out a gradient for the "wings" and found a complimentary body color. Once my image was colored I used the the 3D effect extrude and bevel to turn my monster and give him some depth. The finial image appears as a winged monster who could fly off at any time.
