This Star Party poster was a personal project I did during a time when I couldn't stop drawing aliens (and for some reason bananas with laser pistols but that's a different story). I've never actually been to a star party myself but from what I understand they're pretty far out ;)

I started this piece with a bunch of random doodles from my sketchbook that I thought would work well together and the lettering came from a different project I later decided to scrap.

Once I figured out who I wanted to invite to the party it was simply a matter of seating arrangement. I took all the original bits cleaned them up and arranged them in Photoshop and then printed them back out. Then using a light table I went back and re-did all the linework to start with something a little more consistent. 

Once I've got my lines nice and tidy I take everything back into Photoshop and start coloring. 

Each color gets a layer of it's own so it's easier for me to play with the textures and get as close to that campy t-shirt look as I can without being able to add actual sparkles.

And.... that's it.
