This 70's inspired dress was designed and constructed by myself using the flat pattern technique. I made this dress at LSU in the flat pattern course of fall 2017. Our objective was to pick a decade and design a line inspired by the decade. I chose the 1970's. We first created a mood board and then used Adobe Illustrator to showcase our designs in color. For this dress I chose a brocade fabric. The garment also contains arm wraps that tie through loops under the forearm to add interest to the petal sleeve. I have the original croqui of the design in Illustrator as well as the final garment. We created a tech path of each garment we constructed and the pages are shown here such as the item description page, technical flats, and point of measure sheet with arrow guidelines. This dress will be seen in the LSU fashion show of 2018.
