"Nature VS Flights "A visualization about the relationship between flights network and natural events.
This visualization was made during the 2012 Visualizing Global Marathon.
This analysis aims to highlight the influence of natural events on the regular air trafic, analyzing the seven most destructive events for airlines, ending with a larger reportage on the latest, hurricane Sandy. Here we describe the amount of cancellations and delays recorded during a regular day in North America, compared the same amount of data registered during the peak of Sandy's devastation.
