Art 1130 Final Portfolio 1/3 Analog 2D
Stab Squares
acrylic, 18 x 24, 2017
The intention of the art is to convey a war between the purple squares and the yellow triangles. The triangles are meant to be a much more threatening force compared to the squares, as they are much larger and brighter, and even have managed to skewer unlucky victims. The squares are depicted as weaker objects that must band together to have a fighting chance. The squares are supposed to be at a hopeless disadvantage as it takes many of them to just take down one enemy who is capable of killing multiple squares at once. I like how I made the "dying" triangle seem dimmer than the other lively bright ones, as well as the yellow and purple color scheme which helps to emphasize the threatening triangles.
