Wyntreaux is a ready to wear collection that ultimately meshes two movements in history to create a fresh take on modern boho clothing today. Exhibiting handmade embellishments inspired from the expressive 60s/70s “Do it Yourself” movement and oversized silhouettes [pushed to the extreme] from the Punk Rock sub-genre: Grunge movement of the mid-1980s to early 1990s. This collection caters to eco-friendly and free spirited women with an appreciation for handmade clothing and accessories. The initiative of Wyntreaux is to enhance a woman’s confidence, femininity, and spirit without breaking the bank. Wyntreaux will also promote sustainability through woven plastic bags, recycled fabrics, up cycled materials, and repurposed thrift store finds. Sustainable Fashion is the future. Part of my focus will be to help change the effects of fast fashion by showcasing sustainable and handmade techniques such as appliqués, embroideries, crochet pieces and hand dyed fabrics. These techniques will ultimately showcase the appreciation for slow fashion and target customers who prefer wearable art instead of fast fashion trends. I believe that through earth conscious individuals [designers and customers] we can change the fashion industry to a less wasteful production environment. We can keep our clothes out of overflowing landfills if we reuse what we have already produced. I believe in a future where we all choose earth.
