DEAR DIARY
"Dear Diary" was the product of a set out editorial projectfrom the University of Hertfordshire. I was required to design a magazine on a subculture of my choice; Pop Punk Culture. The project was set to teach us about the use of grids, layout and typography.
The design rationale for this project was to create a magazine that would appeal to "edgy" teens interested in pop punk. The magazine was branded as "Dear Diary" with the mindset of it being a diary an angry teenager would write in so the target audience could relate. The typeface was chosen as it
was handwritten and rough. The pages showed notebook lines to emphasize that it was a diary or notebook especially made for them, featuring ripped images to represent anarchy. Each spread represented a subject for the magazine: Fashion, Artist, Music.
