Between 1914 & 1918, over 500,000 Irishmen and women participated in the First World War. It saw the largest army ever raised on the island and the largest number of casualties with 49,400 dead. However staggering the scale our contribution to this conflict, what is more staggering is how little we know about it.
This exhibition is intended to readdress this knowledge gap. Using artefacts donated by the public, it hopes to give insight into the lives of these men and women and their personal experiences.
