Objective: This video-short “Hey good looking what you got cookin’?” is part one of a series of video shorts to complement a course on - Seeking a Healthier Lifestyle through Nutrition Education.
Target Audience: Administrative staff and support employees
The instructional video “Hey good looking… what you got cooking” focuses on the learning outcome
of combining ingredients to create and recreate meals, choosing recipes of balanced meals, identifying nutrient content within the meals and using recipes to develop a healthy meal plan.

The instructional video-short implements the ARCS model of motivational design theory which concentrates on four steps for promoting and sustaining motivation in the learning process: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction.
A corresponding authentic assessment was also created using the ARCS model of motivational design and guided by Merrill's first principles of instruction.
An initial script and narration were drafted.
