This is the second of a series of 8 short films about the relationship between forest communities in the Congo Basin and conservation practices.
It highlights some of the problems that forest communities encounter when parks are established without their prior consent or direct participation in the decision making process in the land where they have lived often for generations.
The videos suggest different approaches to conservation and the establishment of parks, which could see the direct involvement of forest communities in the establishment and running of the parks without being evicted from their ancestral land. I have edited the series and created the intro music for the series for the Rainforest Foundation UK in 2016-17.
