JML challenged JEDCO to come up with a Mandolin food slicer that would fit within their current range of cooking products but to very low cost. Therefore, simplicity of design and number of parts would need to be a minimum.
The timeline for the project was one month, which would include competitor testing, customer research, concept design & refinement and design for manufacture.
