This is a series of strange & unusual sea life. First exhibited in October 2015 through Ghost Gallery at Solo Bar, Seattle.

Hairy Anglerfish

I shredded dupioni silk and left raw edges and hanging thread to represent the hairy-ness of a real Hairy Anglerfish.

Caribbean Reef Squid

Body is made from shiny satin and painted to resemble the iridescent qualities of tropical squid.Tentacles are embroidered. 

Nautilus

This image was inspired by the Nautilus's correspondence to the geometry of the Golden Ratio.

Vampire Squid

The Vampire Squid is a real animal that appears to be a cross between a squid, an umbrella, and barbed wire.
