This project was part of the The Futur's Spartan Logo Design Challenge.
The challenge was to create an unofficial logo refresh for the Spartan Race. During my research, I learned that the Spartan Race was not only a race but also a philosophy to empower, grow and conquer all obstacles in life. The race itself is only one part of the brand and the pictorial usage of a spartan helmet as the logo is conceptually limited by its literal denotations.
My redesign takes the spartan symbol of a lambda, to represent these abstract concepts. I refined the mark into a clean modern logomark design taking into account the readability when it is dirtied or damaged in a race.
My final design was as a finalist chosen by thefutur.
