The Brief:
Design an exciting display stand and collateral designs for exhibition at the National Media Museum in Bradford, UK, celebrating 1960's Film Musicals.
Initial Ideas:
Collateral Items:
Along side the stand, I created a paper bag, poster and harmonica design which all feature the stand title '1960's Film Musicals' and the same orange and purple colour scheme.
App Game:
I also created a fun game that can be played in the stand, or downloaded to the guests phone which tests their knowledge of songs from musicals.
The Stand:
One wall features the stylised image of Mary Poppins - an iconic musical figure, and stills from the film. The film reel connotes movement and is indexical of the passing of time, energy and the flow of music. And the juxtaposition of the contrasting orange and purple is bright and exciting, and along with the bubble text are symbolic of the 1960's hippy movement.
