Book jacket redesign

This was a two week class project in my 340 design class, which we were given a fiction, and non-fiction book to re-design. For the first book, "The Female Man" the story is about four women each in different timelines. One timeline is based in the 1970's, the second when The Great Depression never ended, the third timeline, is a Utopian society in the future where all the men had died from a gender-specific plague over 800 years ago. In the last timeline, the world is a dystopia where men and women are engaged in a battle where this has been going on for over 40 years. So what I had thought of was Hannah Hoch and her approach to photo montage. I took four different pictures of women, and put them together into one woman. Along with objects, and landscapes from these timelines.
In the second book, "A Spy's Guide to Thinking," the author John Braddock was a former case officer at the CIA. He now is a strategy consultant. In this book, he explains how he studied aerial dogfights, and in that study he came to the conclusion that the winning pilots go through a faster thought process than the other person does. For this cover, I tried to do a more constructivist style of cover, while thinking of spies, I thought of satellites and hideouts up in the mountains while including the fighter jets the book talks about.
