PATCH|BRISTOL Project

Patch Bristol was my University project. Even though this was a conceptual project, I am very proud of what I achieved, winning the Design Council’s Future Pioneer Award for this project, due to the feasibility and timelessness and also being picked as a ‘One to watch’ by the Design Council. Patch Bristol is the idea of creating a link between the allotments and foodbanks in Bristol. I have created a branding system that gives cities, allotments and allotmenteers an identity. There are 100 allotment site logos, which means there are 5260 individual allotmenteer logos. I have created a donation pack, that supplies the allotment holders with information about donating their produce and also raises awareness about food waste and foodbanks.

The Patch project is not just restricted to allotments but to encourage everyone to grow produce at home, increase supermarket donations and promote growing fruit and vegetables in schools. to raise awareness of the project and create a Patch community I design a social media platform where you can share photos and progress of the produce. Due to the nature of the logos it can be changed to adapt to different locations around the UK, applying the same concept to create a city logo, allotment logos and individual allotmenteer logos, for example PATCH|BATH and PATCH|BIRMINGHAM.
