Burma Tourist Office Re-Branding Project

This is a project based on the idea if I were to have to re-brand the tourist office of the country Burma. In this project I have created what seems necessary when rebranding a tourist office.

When starting this project I wanted to try something different. My design style that I am very comfortable with is a very grungy, organic type of design, so instead I decided I wanted to create a very sleek and geometric designed re-branding. This was a challenge that pushed me further than I expected. This project pushed me to my design limit and showed me that this limit is a lot further than I expected.

Logo Development...

This logo is a rendition of the hot air balloon festival that happens throughout the year in the city Bagan. This is one of the biggest tourist attractions of Burma and one of the most iconic. Using some of the naturally warm colors of Bagan and the contrasting blue sky I created a simple, yet exciting and enjoyable logo that I thought did a good job of representing Burma after doing hours of research and study on Burma and it's history.
Brand Guideline Booklet...

This booklet I created for the purpose to show the proper uses of the logo, other design elements and what not to do if the tourist company were to hire an out of house designer or let someone use their logo. 

It is a guide for other to see how the company want's to brand itself.
Mailer...

The point of the mailer was to send to many people to announce an art show that the tourist office is putting on to celebrate the completion of the re-branding project. Choosing Nyein Chan Su, a local to Burma and an amazing painter and artist to be showcased in the event. While making this mailer it was fun to play with the way creating a dye-cut and using a tumble fold to create some cool design features.
Two Hour Rushed Poster...

This poster was the death of me. Without any preparation or thought I was tasked with creating a poster that included five facts about Burma from the CIA World Fact Book that we had to read through and choose as well as a clear call to action. As well as designing it in a fun, understandable and well put together poster in the span of two hours. This project showed me that under 
World Fact Book...

The world fact book is a booklet that includes all the information provided by the CIA of Burma. Using this endless amount of mostly boring information on Burma I had to create an engaging, educational booklet that would hopefully cause the reader to find interest in Burma and decide to travel to Burma. Because there was way too much boring, not interesting information I thought I would juxtapose it next to a lot of amazing and beautiful photos of Burma that really show how beautiful this country is (as well as some fun infographics that I created to help the viewer visualize the statistics easier).
