I attached color pens to each tube of the wind chime. I was able to record the turbulence every time the wind blew. Because the wind chimes are musically tuned to western musical notes A, C, D, E, G, I was able to play actual songs by hitting the tubes in a particular order.   

To make the experiment more random, I brought the wind chime out to a park and tied it to a tree. This time, I attempted to let the wind play the chime. It was beautiful to hear the chimes, wind, birds, and the leaves flapping, all in harmony.  

I had a footprint of the sound of the wind chime.
