What the Sidewalk Traveler Misses, Somerville Ball Sq
Somervilleis a city of homes. Developers in theearly 1900’s built up the city with an idea that it must be convenient andcomfortable while maintaining a unique local sentiment.
The small yards and gardens are catered to with great careleaving detailed expressions of pride. Regardless of how small or seemingly insignificant this may seem topassers by these spaces have great value to someone.
I have taken a look at an average Somerville neighborhood and discovered thebeauty that may be missed by the sidewalk traveler.
I have explored these areas separated by fences andhouses. My subject is the land and thespace but also the caretaker, the gardener, the owner.
