"The cloud never comes from the quarter of the horizon from which we watch for it"

The purpose of this project was to utilize a thin canvas and show off our abilities to adapt to unusual situations and to try something out-of-the-box, so I selected a canvas that was longer than it was tall. I used my Wacom Bamboo tablet and Adobe Photoshop CS6 to sketch this design out originally, then played down the color blocks and the background in separate layers. The next thing I did was add clipping masks to the color block and used these to add shading and highlights to the fur, nose, and eye. After I had finished the shading, another layer was added atop for additional color effects, such as the pink seen on the bottom of the Borzoi.
