The People's Climate March in 2014 in New York represented many different labor, civil rights, indigenous,
environmental, and other progressive groups. These sketches explored ways to reflect this diversity,
while reflecting the urgency of the climate crisis.

Climate change is a distant-future concept for many people, but even someone denying climate science feels concerned about air pollution and clean air for their children. China is racing towards renewables right now, in part because the people are
forced to wear breath masks in many major cities. The march's theme is to change everything, we need everyone;
regardless of their political views.

I brought back many of the same elements from the 2014 People's Climate March including Lady Liberty as a symbol of the
American people. Unfortunately this draft was killed off a week before the march. Going back to an earlier idea I would have liked to do a series of people of different race/age/gender but only had 24 hours to redesign the graphic. I pieced together a few different stock models, initially as a Native American woman (who would be leading the march) but also aimed to keep it ambiguous enough that many groups of people could see themselves as this symbol.

After the march we got request for alternate versions, including a 'Resist' variation Sierra Club gave out to environmental trailblazer award winners including LaDonna Brave Bull Allard and Shailene Woodley for their grassroots activism
