MACRO/MICRO AREA STUDY

MACRO area means the study of a large area. For example, studying an entire classroom. But MICRO area means studying a smaller section. For example, studying a single student of the class. The area I researched on was INA market, New Delhi and further chose the POULTRY, FISH and MEAT marke. The micro area chosen was a shop called KWALITY CHICKEN.
The ambience and environment of this market is smelly and unclean. Since there is a lot of leaking blood, the shopkeepers keep on throwing water on the floor to wash it off. This area is much more cooler than other areas of the market.

INFOGRAPHIC ABOUT THE PROCESSING OF POULTRY
After a detailed research on the micro area, I had to choose an area from within the shop where i could find a design driven solution.
i down a number of areas where I thought I could re-design certain things. Like, Display of poultry and seafood, packaging of poultry and seafood, Home delivery packaging and the tools used for butchering.
I then chose to go with packaging of seafood as my opportunity area.

PROBLEM AREA
The shopkeeper packs the seafood in black polythene stuffed with crushed ice.
There was a need to re-design because of the issues with the current packaging.
The problem was regarding dripping, smell and the material. All I had to do is find a solution to theses problems with the help of design.
