I was approached to design a poster for the event '4G Presents', a local indie gig featuring 3 artists.
The client told me that they wanted something black and white with a splash of contrasting colour, a brief that granted me a lot of freedom. Unfortunately the information given to me by the client changed several times, resulting in several revisions before reaching the final poster.
Despite these difficulties, I had fun with this project. It allowed me to explore a few different styles of poster with the challenge of only using black, white, and one colour.

A simplified version of my first design, using the stipple shading brush more freely to add a larger splash of colour.
While I kept the colour, I took a more illustrative approach with this one, using a simple texture overlay to add a little detail to the piece.
This is possibly my favourite of these. The rays of light combined with the texture overlay gave a nice 'indie' look, and the effect it has when it reveals the type.
Again, I took the design in a different, more typographical direction. I had fun with the asymmetry of the design, but it had a few flaws that needed fixing.
This is the design that the client finally chose. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, using almost entirely type in a column was a fun experience.
