Incorporating Filters

The subject of the shot is a hanging statuette of an angel, with a picture framed in the background to highlight the theme of the picture, which is religion is one form (in this instance, catholicism). I wanted to make sure that the exposure, color temperature, and lighting helped create a calming and uplifting setting to try to match the ideology behind religion. Peace is the key word that I wanted to achieve with this first photo. The Smoque 5 Tiffen filter definitely helped achieve this by softening the HD hard crisp edges that the camera shot.
For this photo, the subject is a soccer ball placed on the penalty shot marker in front of a goal, ready to be shot for a potentially game winning goal. I experimented with this shot a lot by changing the color temperature around to see if I would like the shot to be colder or warmer to fit a specific theme, and I finally chose to go with a neutral/slightly cold feel. This gives the idea that this shot could be stressful or important, it isn't just a casual shot but one that could mean a lot. I wanted this shot to be inspiring, determined and progressive. The pearlescent 10 filter was perfect for this, accentuating the light on the ball and creating a slight glare.
