I spent the summer of 2015 working at Fernwood Cove Summer Camp in Maine teaching young girls how to make silver jewellery. I already had a solid background in jewellery making and so spent this time improving my communication and delivery skills. It taught me how to deal with difficult individuals and helped me better myself as a teacher. I lived without electricity or wifi for several months - it was wonderful. This meant that the majority of the work that was produced ended up looking very rustic but I feel that it adds a personality to them.
I also looked after a group of 8 eight-year-olds during the morning and evening as I was the 'bunk mom' for their summer. Needless to say, my patience is now a lot better than before I worked at the summer camp, there's something about making 8 beds every morning that does that to you.
