"Jackalope" Restaurant Identity

"Jackalope is a rustic souther-styled restaurant that is more "slick" than "hick." With old wood signs and wooden furniture, the restaurant is true to its Southern nature without falling into the stereotype connected to it."
"The name 'Jackalope' comes from the mythical animal from North American folklore: a hybrid of a jackrabbit and an antelope. With that idea in mind, the logo is reminiscent of old storybook illustrations. The typeface is made to look tall, a distinguishing feature of both the jackrabbit's legs and the antelope's antlers."
"The menu is a physical representation of the atmosphere of Jackalope, inspired by the food listed inside. The logo is silkscreened on the back of the wooden base. The lack of a cover allows customers to order right away, and the light weight and size of the menu makes it easy to hold without getting in the way of dishes and condiments already on the table."
"Jackalope is located mainly in rural neighborhoods.  Typically, in these types of environments, the streets have a slow speed limit and are walked on more than driven on.  For this reason, the main sign for the restaurant is a hanging sign, large enough to see down the road or from a slowly driving vehicle.  The first thing to notice, rather than the name, is the Jackalope image itself, standing in for the name of the restaurant as a symbol.  Lit from above and from two lights on either side of the door, the sign is gently lit for night hours.  The sign itself is a two color silkscreen on a wooden panel."
