"Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand."
I envisioned the Mark of Cain not as a physical mark but rather as an embodiment of his curse. The ground crumbles beneath him and his crops die around him.
This is one of four of my thesis pieces as Massart. My thesis focused on the archetype of the eternal wanderer. I created large paintings of characters in history and fable I consider to be eternal wanderers, exploring their personalities and journeys. Each began as a traditional acrylic painting and were finished digitally.
