AVOCADO TOOL
Designed to compete with existing avocado tools currently being sold on the market. A multi-function tool comprised of 18/0 stainless steel, polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic rubber (TPR). First step for user is to cut open the avocado using the serrated edge and twist the avocado open. The two prongs on the side of the tool are then hit into the pit followed by a twisting motion, easily allowing the user to pull out the pit. The serrated edge is used once again to slice the avocado into thin slices, then the curved spoon shape is used to scoop the flesh out of the peel. Easy to use and easy to clean after it is used, unlike many other specified kitchen gadgets available.

Competitor products currently on the market are often overly designed. Dual-headed tools create a greater mess since both ends are covered with avocado, complicated designs are not intuitive to use and tools incorporating wire are both difficult to clean and can easily cut the user's hand if not cleaned properly.
Rapid ideation sketching allowed me to find different solutions of combining the tool's form with a variety of necessary functions.
Basic step-by-step to guide user into using the tool correctly. Other functions are possible as well, such as squeezing a lemon over the tool when making guacamole. The slotted surface will catch the seeds, preventing them from falling into the dish.
Allows for easy removal of the pit, an action that when done using a knife can cause injuries serious enough to lead people to the emergency room.
