This was a POC done for the data management and risk management software giant- AIM, Vienna for their product GAIN. There are 3 main users of the platform - manager, operator, and technical administrator. Each user has a different set of activities to perform as per its corresponding priority. However, the current interface of GAIN platform has primarily the same view for each of the users and is essentially designed from the point of view of an operator.
The brief given by the client was to design a dashboard, specifically for the manager. To begin the process, managers were interviewed to understand their role and also, to identify the level of interaction with her/his team members (operators).
Alongside the interviews, sufficient time was devoted to understanding the complete platform.
The result of the interviews was collated in the form of mind map. This exercise helped in highlighting the elements that formed the core features of the dashboard design.
Activities, like overviewing tasks status and distributing the same among his/her team members, were at the forefront of the dashboard. The dashboard was divided into 3 discrete segments - Current Tasks Statistics, Current Tasks Distribution, and Tasks List. The final layout was designed with the balance of highlighting critical figures.
