A Map to the North End in Boston

Map Design: How to Treat Yourself at the North End on a Student Budget
The North End is the "little Italy" of Boston. It's a lively environment that holds most of Boston's history, and is a home to the italian culture. I wanted to portray the old-fashioned and cozy feeling through the choice of paper. I used cover stock from PaperSource called "Paper Bag."
To make this map feel more personal and interactive I incorporated windows that would open to images that represented Boston's North End.
I also incorporated windows to make the map more interactive. Underneath, you can see the name of the location.
Using the tabs, you can turn to the next page, which details the location and incorporates advice that I gathered from the locals.
The panned-out pages was inspired by the Pantone Swatch book. The typefaces I used were:
Eames Modern Century (bold, book, light, regular)
Adorn Sans Condensed
