Westin at Time Square Signage

Westin at Time Square – Signage
This signage job I worked on for Tishman/Starwood Hotels, while employed at Rick Henschel Design. It was done for the Westin New York at TimeSquare, which is a 45 floor hotel with over 3,000 signs inside the hotel.
I did production, design, and typesetting of each sign.
These are a few of the signs that I worked on in the hotel, which are all ADA compliant. The front of house signs are done in brushed aluminum and cover every aspect of way-finding through the hotel.
The specification sheets are one of the most important part of signage design, even more so than print or digital. This is because if you get it wrong, it becomes very expensive and there is allot to consider besides size, such as material, color, depth, etc.  These are some of the specs sheets that I worked on.
Doing a large scale job like this takes a lot of planning, this is a sign placement map based on the architectural plans of the hotel. It also served as a checklist to make sure every sign that was needed was in place and ready to be manufactured.
These are some of the renderings that I worked on for the hotel lobby entrance. Besides doing the Photoshop work to get the concepts across, I took the photos of the lobby to do the work.
