Models of Instructional Design: Informational Posters

PORTFOLIO PIECE 7
Title:  Models of Instructional Design: Informational Posters
Media Type: Poster
Purpose: To define and explain the meanings of The Gradual Release Model and Rapid Prototyping as it fits into instructional design.
The two instructional posters were designed around the content researched focusing on the gradual release model and rapid prototyping. Each of the posters were designed, laid out and published for the purpose of relaying the content in an aesthetically pleasing way.  We were tasked to present the materials using color, placement and fonts of our choice and to link the two posters to create a unified collection.
Starting out with the gradual release image provided to me,
I designed an ID map around the process behind creating a content driven poster.  This ID map helped decided how we were to approach the content and keep the characteristics of instructional design in mind as we built the posters.
The posters use strategically chosen colors to create levels of information that fit nicely together. Each of the 3 main sections of the graphics flow together and are linked with the same font type face and size. Each of the headlines and sub headlines were cast in the same purple hue as the main headline to link everything together.
The sub headlines referencing each park of the image are colored to match the position in the image that the content refers. I chose to add a slightly different color background to the content to accent the content and create a call out box look to show the content is referencing other pieces of information.
