The Gentleman's Retainer is a fixed height valet unlike most of my other valets. It's made to suit the height of the final user so there's a bespoke element to it even when it's ordered "off the shelf".

The recent updates to the shape of the column; giving it a shaped waist, are partly atheistic and partly for practical reasons. The valet breaks down into three sections for shipping.

At the waist there's a wooden screw thread connection.

The base section with shoe bars is connected to the lower section of the centre column with a dowel screw and wing nut. Every effort is made to make putting the valets together a simple and painless process.

The hanger is shaped by a CNC router so that every hanger is exactly the same and perfectly symmetrical.
