The Standard Valet is the start of my range of valets. The idea was to design a valet completely removed from the old ideas of gentleman's valets which I felt lacked any originality or style and were just a nod to what had came before.
I wanted the valet to be a tactile piece of furniture which felt a bit modern and a bit retro, something that felt like a good antique market find and modern at the same time.
People like to play with interesting objects for a while but ultimately they're going to have to function perfectly in every day life.
Valets are personal pieces of furniture like dressing tables so I've tried to give enough options without making things over complicated.
This is the accessory tray with a bowl for small items and a bar for hanging a tie.
The weight of the three steel legs make the valet bottom heavy and very stable.
