sub·vert/səbˈvərt/
Verb:  Undermine the power and authority of (an established system or institution).

You know the feeling. When you open a newspaper or magazine, and there’s a story inside about something that’s happened, but it doesn’t add up. It can’t be the full story.

What I hope you will gain from reading this magazine is another view on the world, an alternative outlook. One that is not obsessed with what is the latest fashion, who dumped who, or how shockingly skinny someone is. This magazine will bring you real reviews on current subjects in the world right now, without the sensationalism. It will bring you everyday talented people, from graffiti artists to metalcore bands, from graphic designers to pro snowboarders. Instead of celebrities, we will bring you interviews with those out there making a difference to the world.

Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the earth.”
- William Faulkner
Subvert Magazine is a project that I created in Semester Two of my final year at Loughborough. It is amagazine aimed at young adults (both genders) that tells the reader of politics and current affairs, art and design, extreme sports, music and things to do.
I wanted to create a magazine that was different from typical magazines currently in the market, to offer readers adifferent outlook on life one not how to lose weight or what are the latest clothes to be worn. I hope that the finaloutcome demonstrates articles that are thoughtprovoking and cover topics not often spoken about in the media, from different points of view. The magazine includes articles on capitalism, consumerism, hacktivism and street art.It includes a variety of artists and designers, and includes interviews with a variety of bands and musical artists, aswell as interviews with proskiiers and everyday people doing extraordinary things.

The main target market of this magazine would be young adults, from ages 18-25 of any gender. They might already have a liberal standpoint and be interested in artistic or musical endeavours.
