It is important to understand different models of instructional design. But, who wants to read through a thick instructional design book when you just want a quick overview or need a brief refresher? Models of Instructional Design: Gradual Release is a simplistically designed poster that gives you information on gradual release without tons of text. Graphics, color, and text combine to move viewers through the gradual release model providing enough information to gain a quick understanding of the process without overwhelming their senses.

Piktochart infographic design online application was used to design an instructional design model poster. Working within the Internet browser application, Piktochart graphics were combined with provided Adobe Illustrator graphics to relay the gradual release model in a brief, visual format. This final poster version was designed to move viewers through the model, from demonstration to independent practice, as the model would be used in an instructional setting. Colors, graphics, and text all work together to create movement and understanding.

Drafts are an important part of the creative process. They help us flesh out ideas and hone our work. This draft has the color palette and basic components of the final gradual release poster, but lacks refinement. After reviewing the poster and feedback, the ideas were hone and reshaped to create an improved iteration.
