Technology Visualization Project - Nano Precision Medical
One of the greatest joys I get in my career is helping other entrepreneurs in scientific and engineering fields get the word out on what they are doing. Especially, when they're great people working hard to make the world a better place through great technology. The founders of Nano Precision Medical, Adam Mendelsohn and Kayte Fischer, are just that.
They approached me to see if I could construct for them a series of images and/or videos to help them explain the inner workings of their Nanoportal drug delivery implant and its novel titanium dioxide nanotube membrane system.
I used a combination of technical/cut-away style illustrations for the implant's structure and 3D renders of the implant and its components. I incorporated these 2D and 3D objects into various illustrations and graphs to accomplish the following:
- Depict the inner parts of the Nanoportal drug delivery implant
- Illustrate NPM's ability to "tune" their drug delivery timelines, nanotubes, nanotube pores, and membrane pores for various therapeutic applications
- Showcase how their approach is superior to traditional drug delivery approaches.
The result: Adam says the illustrations and videos have "literally" shaved 15-30 minutes off his conference talks and sales pitches. He says he previously would have spent 15-30 min alone trying to explain the various aspects of their technology.
To me, that's a mission accomplished.
